Major stakeholders in the nation’s oil and gas industry, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation have thrown their weights behind the-state-of-the-art engineering training facility operated by Nigerdock Plc on the Snake Island Integrated Free Zone, Lagos. The NNPC and Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) Joint Venture has recently selected the facility to lead its training programme for oil and gas workers on their projects.

Besides, the Nigerdock Training Centre was also recently selected by the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) to train welders, fitters and machinists. According to a statement made available to the Guardian by the Coordinator, National Content Development, Nigerdock, Mr. Uyi Omoregie, the training programmes focused on basic skills acquisition, upgrade and competence development by trade of carefully selected candidates through both comprehensive classroom courses and intensive practical sessions, under the tutelage of seasoned instructors, based on an outlined course curriculum for the trainees.
