40 Welders and Fitters have been graduated from Nigerdock's Training School

FORTY welders and fitters graduated from The Nigerdock Training Centre, at Snake Island Integrated Free Zone, on Friday 14th May 2010.
These successful welders and fitters comprised the first batch of trainees under the training programme sponsored by the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).
The training programme focused on basic skills acquisition, upgrade and competence development by trade of carefully selected candidates through both theoretical classroom courses and intensive practical sessions, under the tutelage of seasoned Instructors, based on an outlined course curriculum for the trainees. The targeted training was made to be relevant to the local oil and gas industry requirements whilst being internationally competitive, providing professional training in safety, fabrication technology and quality control.
Nigerdock's Training Centre is the focal point for skills, learning and workforce development in the Nigerian oil and gas industry and offers world class training of personnel in the fields of Health and Safety, Welding, Pipefitting, Plating and Machining.
Welders are trained in SMAW, MMAW, FCAW & TIG processes and certified to Lloyds, ABS & DNV standards.
This Training Centre was also recently selected by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) Joint Venture to lead its training programme for oil & gas workers on their projects.
The Training Centre is lead by a team of professional teaching staff and has state of the art facilities including multi-disciplined workshops, machine shops, fully equipped welding booths and air-conditioned classrooms.
